The Mission

We are keeping people fed, keeping people employed, and keeping businesses afloat.
Our goal is simple – support local restaurants and provide meals for community members in need during the COVID 19 crisis and beyond.

Feed Anne Arundel began in March of 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. As we all recall, the situation was unprecedented and had a devastating effect on local businesses, especially restaurants. Many had to lay off employees or shut down completely. In parallel, many families were struggling to make ends meet and providing delicious, healthy meals became increasingly difficult as grocery stores were running out of everything. We connected with AA County Partnership for Children, Youth, and Families to ensure our meals reached all corners of our community and together with 75+ local restaurants, we continue to work with them to supplement mobile food pantries across the county to provide healthy & delicious restaurant quality meals.

2021 Update

Since we began, our mission has been very clear: keep restaurants open, keep people working, and feed those in need. To date, we’ve provided more than 180,000 meals and put more than $1,500,000 back into the hands of local restaurant owners. We continue our mission today. Most recently, Feed Anne Arundel stepped in to respond to a tornado that ripped through Edgewater and Annapolis by providing more than 2,000 meals to our first responders and community members who were displaced. We are now working towards purchasing community refrigerators that will be stocked with meals-to-go from our participating restaurants and fresh produce from the Anne Arundel County Foodbank. We hope to place these refrigerators in senior centers and community centers throughout the county. We are also continuing to provide meals to food distributions throughout the county.

Please consider donating to our fund. Every penny counts. Your donation will support so many people – from cooks and servers to farmers and, of course, local families in need – the ripple effect will be felt across our community.
